So I'm in the process of writing up a business plan for a writing/editing/research/desktop publishing business I plan to launch in the next couple of months, and apparently in order to get the business grant I'm applying for, I have to have some kind of evidence that the market for such a business does indeed exist. Makes sense, I suppose... So - since this plan is due in a couple of weeks, I'm attempting to do this the fast way by firing off a basic question in places such as this, the question being: If you were to employ the services of a writing / editing / research / desktop publishing business, what would you expect to / be prepared to pay per hour / page / word for said service?Don't panic, you're not signing up for anything - I just need to get some numbers to satisfy the bean-counters. So please, if you've got a minute or two, a small piece of feedback would be helpful! cheers, me Current Mood: optimistic

I am older. But - to deal with the fact on the day, I went out to dinner with Vreetan & two friends (they need nicnames...hmmm...), ate a lot, and got *presents*!!!!! And now...this: Meme #1:Know Thyself: Who is Baadbard? (feel free to read, copy and fill in as you...)
I am: what I am, and what I am, needs no excuses... I think: about stuff too much, and it gives me a headache. I know: what Lucy Lawless looks like in a diaphanous Roman toga... I have: a partially-signed Simpsons-esque cartoon image of the Star-Trek: Voyager crew. I wish: any wish I was able to make, didn't happen to go trickily awry, like they always seem to do in those spooky be-careful-what-you-wish-for tales... I was: younger I wanted to become: a writer I hate: being stressed, panic attacks, unexpected loud noises. I miss: having more energy, owning my own house, and my limited edition Star Wars Monopoly game.
I crave: food that's bad for me, hugs, laughter. I search for: food that's bad for me, hugs, laughter. And work that will keep me and Vreetan from stressing about money. I wonder: wah-wah-wah-wah-wonder... I regret: not taking that left turn at Alberquirke I love: Vreetan, my Mum, myself, my kitten, food that's bad for me, hugs, laughter. And being alive. As far as I know, it's the better option...
I am not: healhty enough. Stoopid Chronic Fatigue... I believe: that all good things come to those who wait...and to those who believe that all good things come to those who wait... I dance: in the privacy of my own head. I sing: more or less in tune, but only when the backing track is playing.
I fight: for truth, justice, and the pursuit of food that's bad for me, hugs and laughter. I confuse: most people, eventually. I listen: for the Pizza Hut van. I can: write a filk in 2 minutes. I am scared: of not being. I need: love, warmth, food, sleep, laughter, sanity. I am happy: when eating tasty food; after a good nights' sleep; snuggling with Vreetan. I imagine: my wedding day (at this point, November 2010). I tag: anyone I know. Meme #2:

Apparently the '80's has just been voted the most popular decade of the last 5. Who'da thunk?? Heheh - go '80s..."...and I go lalalalala, she's got the look..." In more rational news...how do you stop a kitten bringing in munted birds & hiding under the bed with them til you go not-quite-crazy enough to threaten it with throwing it out the window and never letting it in again til tomorrow...seriously, I know it's the whole I'm-bringing-you-a-present-and-how-dare-y ou-not-be-grateful-strange-human thing, but really...the feathers are hard to clean up when they're constantly under everything. We actually managed to save one once, but Waffle seems to have learned that trick now, and seems to have graduated to playing with them until they stop moving *completely* before bringing them in to show/hide/eat later. Oh yeah, and there are pictures of Waffle on both our Facebook pages... And speaking of advice, how do you stop the person you plan to marry in two years, from snoring like a very-loud-snoring-thing? Ok, so I don't have to wake up early in the mornings currently, but really, help... It's wet outside. I want to set up a website. Can't pay for it. Bummer. Vreetan & I bought the new version of Monopoly (Here & Now World Edition, with extra NZ section - Auckland & Queenstown cards, and gold-coloured playing pieces! Yay!) and have now played 4 games. Is that kinda sad, or cute & domestic?? I prefer assuming the latter, so there. We are both addicted to diet coke. And I mean addicted - to the point where we get headaches if we don't have it for 2 days. Should I be worried about this? Meh... Ah. Just thought of a favour to ask. We are visiting Auckland at the end of October, the weekend after Armageddon, and I'm sure I read that MICHAEL SHANKS will attend, commitments pending. If I threw some kind soul who's planning to go, the requisite $40, would they be willing to get Vreetan an autographed pic *pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze...* (Details to follow - there's a particular kind of shot we want, to go with her current pics of Judge & Tapping...) Wow, it's nearly 5pm...wondered why I was feeling hungry... Current Location: Home Current Music: Paint - Roxette

1) Vreetan's mum sent us engagement gifts! Bad news: they arrived by courier at 6am - arrrggg!!! Good news: we have engagement gifts! *2x sheet sets! *2x monster towels! *2x big blocks of chocolate! (which Vreetan will devour in less than a fortnight...) *2x Warehouse vouchers! (half of which we have already spent on a Monopoly Here & Now World edition - with NZ extras) *A Crafty Dragon feng shui hatchm egg - which contained *2* dragonettes - the luckiest and rarest you can get! *Cuddly toy!!! I like Vreetan's mum. 2) Our baby kitten Waffle turned 1 on 17 August - seeee's sooooo cuuuuuuuuute...(and if I knew how to do it, I'd put a photo up)...we got her real adult cat food, to which she is now addicted - at least to the ones with gravy... 3) I want to go to Zion Park and play with the cubs... That's all. Current Location: Home Current Mood: cheerful
